Why Are Sauna Sessions So Beneficial?


We are all exposed to hundreds of chemicals a day in the air we breathe, the items we touch, what we apply to our skin, and what we eat and drink. Not all of these chemicals can be processed adequately by the body, nor can an endless amount or number of them be handled at one time. By implementing use the of an infrared sauna session into your weekly routine you can help your body rid itself of these devastating toxins.  Expelling heavy metals and organic acids through sweating can help rebalance digestion and your metabolism, and both of those can impact skin health and clarity. Sweat released through an infrared treatment contains as much as 20% fats and toxins, compared to 3-5% in regular sweat. These toxins include alcohol, nicotine, sulfuric acid, and ammonia.

1-3 SESSIONS

You’ll leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. Your body is beginning to acclimate to the infrared sauna sessions, and you’ve experienced a small portion of the overall health benefits. Don’t stop here!

4-8 SESSIONS

You’ve started to unlock the powerful detoxification process. Your body is now starting to eliminate surface level toxins more efficiently through perspiration. You’re burning more calories and raising your core temperature more quickly.

9-15 SESSIONS

Your body is fully acclimated to the sauna sessions and the real magic has begun. Complete cellular detoxification is underway, eliminating harmful, heavy metals, aches, pains and stiffness. Circulation has increased, your overall stress levels are down, your skin is glowing and renewed, and you are in a state of complete relaxation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Infrared light is part of the Sun’s invisible spectrum of light that has the ability to penetrate the human tissue. Infrared heat therapy uses these infrared light characteristics to heat the body directly rather than just the air. The experience of an infrared sauna is similar to sunbathing, which gives you the radiant heat that is all your own. The infrared heat penetrates your skin, giving you that wonderful natural warmth. Unlike sunbathing, infrared heat therapy is completely healthy and safe. You can relax in an infrared sauna and it will never cause your skin to burn. 


Pregnant women should not use a sauna. If you have a chronic condition that makes you sensitive to temperature, we recommend checking with your doctor before booking a session. We recommend checking with your doctor if you have recently had an injury and/or undergone surgery. If you have hemophilia we do not recommend sweating. If you are on any medications please check with your doctor (especially if you are on blood thinners). If you have been advised to stay away from heat or have any concerns regarding medical conditions, please talk to your doctor. Other contraindications include epilepsy, pacemaker, cochlear implant, untreated hypertension, & skin infections. 


Far infrared saunas are a healthy weight loss solution without exercising. Infrared Saunas burn 400-600 calories in just one 30-minute session. In a Far infrared sauna, a moderately fit person can sweat one pound of sweat in a 30-minute session; the equivalent of running 2-3 miles.  Infrared saunas have been proven to aid in weight loss by heating your core temperature to induce sweating. Increases in blood flow and heart rate are a result, which, much like moderate exercise, has shown to help you lose weight. Saunas also help you lose weight by easing aches and pains associated with weight training, helping you get back into the gym the next day.  It could take up to an hour to cool down after a session. This is normal and is part of your body returning to its regular body temperature (one plus is you are still burning calories after you sweat while this cool down is taking place). 


 Our Sauna Blanket gets HOT so we require that clients wear long-sleeved clothing and socks. We also provide a  high-performance, reusable towel insert that is designed to fit comfortably inside your Infrared Sauna Blanket.  It is crafted from a blend of 35% bamboo and 65% organic combed long-staple cotton, which means your Towel Insert is hypo-allergenic, environmentally-friendly, durable, ultra-comfortable,  Please make sure that your clothing is free of plastic or any metal- ie bras with underwire or swim suits with metal eyelets. 


 We recommend bringing  a loose fitting change of clothes for after your sweat session, a towel to dry off with, your water bottle and headphones to listen to your favorite music or podcast during the sauna session. 


Hydration is a top priority. We want you to feel your best. Our bodies need plenty of water to function optimally. When you sweat your body uses water to flush out toxins and other waste, the more water you have to use, the more productive your sweat session will be. It is also important to replenish the water you sweat out! 

We also advise against sweating on an empty stomach, but also not arriving right after a heavy meal either. Please make sure you are well hydrated and have eaten a little something before your session.
