Dermaplaning has shown to be effective for dealing with many concerns, such as but not limited to, dull, dry, dehydration skin, as well as fine lines and wrinkles.
Not only does it allow for better product penetration, it also allows your foundation to be applied easily and look flawless!
Dermaplaning is a pain-free procedure designed to remove surface dead skin. It is done by carefully using a scalpel at a 45 degree angle to remove the surface dead skin to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion. Dermaplaning can also remove vellus hair aka peach fuzz and allows for much better product penetration.
It is recommended for all skin types, except those with active acne breakouts, and is also safe for pregnant women who want exfoliation without harsh chemicals!
This treatment is customized to cater to your skin concerns, therefore the products used for cleansing, moisturizing, and even serum infusion or mask application is designed and customized specifically for you. Whether you are looking to treat oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, or aging skin, Dermaplaning can be the right treatment for you.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning provides an effective and safe exfoliation treatment that promotes deeper product penetration, boosting the effects of skin care products while making the skin look and feel smoother and also reducing the appearance of acne scars. The treatment also works to remove facial hair that can trap dirt and oils.
How long does it take to recover from Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a quick, effective procedure that normally takes 45 minutes to complete. It is recommended that patients space treatments approximately two to four weeks apart for the best results. There is absolutely no recovery or down time with this treatment.
Is Dermaplaning safe for sensitive skin?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that provides an alternative to chemical peels or microdermabrasion and is a good choice for anyone who has fine facial hair (peach fuzz), extremely sensitive skin, redness or rosacea, or visible facial veins.
How do I take care of my skin after Dermaplaning?
The skin may feel a little tender after your initial treatment and may need some additional pampering. Use a gentle cleanser to avoid causing irritation. As mentioned previously, the outermost layer of cells have been removed and the cells remaining must be treated with care.
What should I avoid after Dermaplaning?
Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and sweaty activity for 24 hours; this includes exercise of any kind. Avoid products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) for up to 72hrs, avoid swimming for 48hrs, waxing or other forms of facial hair removal for 48hrs, and although it's not advisable to apply make up immediately after, we do recommend using mineral make up.
